Introduction

We are a family of five – mum Hanne, dad Mark, daughter Mia, son Lukas and dog Nugget. (And although doggy loves a trip, he will not be joining us on our adventures.)

This «BB World Travel» blog is created as we are about to embark on our first around the world trip as a family! Wow – it is finally happening!

The purpose of this blog

We wish to share photos and our day-by-day diary with family and friends – and we figured a blog is the easiest way to do so.. We will aim to post daily – or whenever we have stable wifi in the hotel room before bedtime 🤞🏻😁

Planning our trip

We started saving for this «Round The World» adventure in January 2016. This blog was born in April 2023, so it really has been a long time coming.

The original plan was to go away for three months in the summer of 2021, and we were planning on saving for five years. When covid hit us in 2020 we soon realized we had to change our plans, so the trip got moved to the summer of 2023.

Also, as covid made Mark unemployed for a minute, we spent a chunk of the travel savings to buy and create a new company, so that he could go back to work and carry on saving for our trip. 🥳

As a bonus, Mark’s cousin Rosie in Derby, England, decided to plan her wedding around our trip (at least that’s what we tell ourselves 😉) so we will finish off the adventure with a true English wedding before we head back home.

• Las Vegas
• Hawaii: Oahu Island
• Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima
• Singapore
• Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur, Kota Bharu, Perinthian Islands, Penang
• Thailand: Krabi, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Pha Ngan, Koh Samui, Bangkok
• India: New Dehli, Jaipur, Agra
• England: Luton, Derby

Expectations

• learn at least five new words in each country
• get tanned (well, two of us tan easily – the other two just get pink)
• try lots of new foods
• get tired of long flights
• hoping Japan lives up to the hype
• tick off lots on our bucket list
• live in the moment and enjoy every day to the fullest
• enjoy a proper English wedding to finish off our trip

Future travels?

We plan to go on more journeys in the future, as mummy wants to see Australia, Lukas and daddy wants to go anywhere warm and Mia wants to see Greenland (!?). We’ll get back to you on that one…

Denne «BB World Travel» bloggen lages nå når vi skal legge ut på vår første verdensreise som familie! Wow – endelig skjer det!

Hensikten med denne bloggen

Vi ønsker å dele bilder og vår daglige dagbok med familie og venner – og vi fant ut at en blog vil være den enkleste måten å gjøre det. Vi vil forsøke å legge ut noe daglig, eller så ofte som vi har stabilt nett på hotellrommet ved leggetid 🤞🏻😁

Planlegging av turen vår

Vi begynte å spare til dette «Round The World»-eventyret i januar 2016. Denne bloggen ble født i april 2023, så det har virkelig gått lang tid.

Den opprinnelige planen var å reise bort i tre måneder sommeren 2021, og vi planla å spare i fem år. Da covid rammet oss i 2020 skjønte vi fort at vi måtte endre planene , så turen ble flyttet til sommeren 2023.

Da covid gjorde Mark arbeidsledig, brukte vi også en del av sparepengene på å kjøpe og opprette et nytt selskap, slik at han kunne gå tilbake på jobb og fortsette å spare til turen.🥳

Også Marks søskenbarn Rosie i Derby, England, bestemte seg for å planlegge bryllupet rundt turen vår (tror vi vertfall😉), så vi avslutter eventyret med et ekte engelsk bryllup før vi drar hjem igjen.

• lære minst fem nye ord i hvert land
• bli solbrune (vel, to av oss blir lett brun – de to andre blir bare rosa)
• prøve mye ny mat
• bli lei av lange flyturer
• håpe Japan lever opp til hypen
• Krysse av mange steder og opplevelser på vår «bucket list»
• leve i øyeblikket og nyte hver dag til det fulle
• oppleve et ordentlig engelsk bryllup for å avslutte turen

Fremtidige reiser?

Vi planlegger å dra på flere reiser i fremtiden, for mor vil se Australia, Lukas og daddy vil hvor som helst som er varmt og Mia vil se Grønland (!?).
